I was sitting down about to eat the other day and decided to take a moment to give thanks and be present before I ate. I gave thought and thanks to be able to simply afford a meal out, and then thanks to hands that prepared it, and then there were also the people who delivered the food to the restaurant and well then, come to think of it, there was the restaurant owner, and then I found myself drifting out giving thanks to to all the people, places and things that went into this meal sitting before me…….
HOLY COW! ( no not the meal, I’m a veggie)
It was unending! From the farmers who planted the veggies to the people who built the farmers house, to the tractor salesman, to the people who make the parts to the tractor to the engineers and designers who designed the thing in the first place….. you catch my drift.
It was really profound and as I opened my eyes and picked up my fork, I smiled to myself thinking about how silly this idea of, “Doing it myself” really is and how truly nothing is achieved without the help of others.
This is why I would like to use my first blog post as an opportunity to say thank you to my friend Russell Yermal and my dear brother Rockwell, for without them this site really and truly would not have happened in the year 2011. Really.
Thank you Russell and Rock for sharing your gifts and making this happen.
We all have a gift and the beauty of life is reveling in our gift and seeing how we can add to one another’s lives with it. We can’t be the restaurant owner, chef, farmer, and customer all at the same time. We must indulge in our gift so that we can share it meaningfully
At a recent seminar I heard Tony Robbins say, “Everyone has a Team in life, you better identify yours.”
Not a day goes by that I don’t realize how fortunate I am to be part of such an incredible team and if you are reading this, then you too are part of that because without you, there would be no point to this.
So thank you to the incredible people who touch my life everyday. The smiles you share, the stories you tell, and the challenges you bring before me. Thank you for being part of my team and allowing me to be a part of yours.
