How much could it REALLY change my life???

by Mina on September 12, 2011

Ok, so I have always had this major fantasy that if I were to get up in the morning at 5:00am, 5 days a week, my life would miraculously catapult into the stratosphere. Now, some of you who know me, are probably thinking, “You don’t already get up at 5:00am?” That would be a No. lol! Not consistently.

I am a total night owl.Early morning rising is something I do with GREAT effort and GREAT discipline. So I will go through periods of early morning rising and then periods of waking up at 7:00am or some other hour reserved for sane people.

I have hit a bit of a plateau in the last 4 weeks so I have decided that there is certainly no better time to explore this fantasy of experiencing untold amounts of productivity and fulfillment than now. I mean, HOW much could this really alter my life? Will that extra 10ish hours a week make THAT much of a difference?

So for the next 60 days I will be waking up at 5:00am Mon-Fri. Now, of course my brain wants to make exceptions. I mean, I am going to Vegas in a couple of weeks and then on a cruise in the middle of October and who the heck wants to get up at 5:00 when they are on vacation??

You know though, the fact is, there is NEVER going to be “right” time free of vacations and such so why the heck not? I mean, hey, the deck of the ship at 5:00am could be WAY cool. One of two things could happen, I am either going to see a gorgeous sunrise, or I’ll accidentally fall of the ship in my early morning fog…. either way, it’ll be an experience. Not to mention, there are some things I desperately want to accomplish and breakthrough by the end of the year….  and there is some saying out there about what successful people do and …. you know what I’m talkin’ about it….

I’ll be sharing the progress with you along the way. This way, I have some major leverage to get me out of bed in the morning and hopefully it’ll be a learning experience for both of us.

Comment, tips and questions welcome…

See you in the Morning!

You will feel a world of a difference. My single tip would be to sleep around the same time every night. All the best!

good luck! but why not do what Tony does? stay up till 3 and get up at 10! Still productive but in sync with your own biorhythms…

Thank you for that tip Hoan! Funny, you popped up here in the comments. SOC is one of my big motivating factors here. So much opportunity on the horizon. Want to make sure I am on the boat. Much Love.

All about being in sync Mike, however at this phase of my life I must be ready to Rock and Roll by 8am and totally in State for those I am going meet that day. 10am does not serve me right now. By the way, I would be shocked if Tony got 7 hours of sleep. Lol!

I really don’t want to turn on the news to find out that they’ve sent out the Coast Guard looking for you in the middle of the sea! LOL Enjoy this new experience! I did that last year for two months and it jump started the book that I’m about to finish. Looks like I might have to join you in that 5 am thing to start my second one!

if you do it it will certainly motivate me to do it… and believe me I AM NOT totally a night owl I can stay up all night but don’t ask me to wake up early… Looking forward to your insights and “Mina’s 5AM Adventure!”

I would love to have you on the journey Karen! It’s like my mentor said, “When you become successful, don’t stop doing what made you successful in the first place.”

My amazing friend! I’m right here with you, support whenever you need it. When I started rising early before the sun came up, it was a fight with myself everyday. Then it kept getting earlier and earlier to get more and more done…yep, call me insane, but I love waking at 5am or right now it’s 4:15am…and I do get up on vacations most of the time. (You definitely get a zag while you’re on vacay!)

But Mina—what if you could outsource tasks–data entry, house cleaning, grocery shopping, online marketing, blogging etc with a team of inexpensive, motivated contractors so that you could get up at 10 am but have as much accomplished (through the efforts of others that you had put in motion) as if you had gotten up at 4 am???
